Ninth Street Man Fatally Stricken; Funeral Tomorrow
A. Douglas McConihe, 59, of 121 Ninth Street, died suddenly about 11 a.m. yesterday in the White Tower, Congress and Third Streets. Coroner Charles J. Cote said death was due to a heart condition.
The fire department inhalator rushed from Central Fire Station by Lt. Louis Unser, Battalion Chief's Driver Russell Sheehan and Hoseman Edward J. Driscoll, was used in an effort to save McConihe's life. He was pronounced dead by Dr. R. E. Vezina. Tadio patrol officers were also at the scene.
Mr. McConihe was a lifelong resident of Troy. He was a graduate of the old Troy Academy and Renaselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1908. Mr. McConihe had operated a cigar store in Broadway between Third and Fourth Streets. He was a member of Watervliet Lodge of Elks, The Troy Citizen's Corps and Troy Post, American Legion. Mr. McConihe was once rated as one of the best pocket billiard players in this section.
His wife, The former Kathryn Gallagher, died several months ago.
