Full Obituary: North Greenbush- Wilfred P. Poirier age 86 years of North Greenbush passed away Monday July 28, 2008. He was born in Cohoes and has lived in North Greenbush for the past 43 years. Mr. Poirier was employed for 40 years for AT&T. He was a US Army Air Force Veteran of WWII and was a member of the 15 Point Hunting Club and the Telephone Pioneers of America. He was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist and St. Josephs Church Rensselaer attending St. Josephs for many years. Husband of Diane Mancucci Poirier of North Greenbush. Father of Paula (Michael) Vertucci, Donna Sauer and Karen Canfield. Son of the late Wilfred and Catherine Larkin Poirier. Brother of the late Catherine Allen, Daniel, Edward, Edmund, and John Connelly. Also survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. A very special thank you to Eric and Molly Holbritter for their care, concern and support. Funeral from St. Josephs Church Third Street Rensselaer Wednesday morning at 10:30 all are welcome to attend. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the W. J Lyons, Jr. Funeral Home 1700 Washington Avenue Rensselaer Wednesday morning prior to the mass from 9-10 AM. Interment will be in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga Cemetery Schuylerville. In lieu of flowers contributions in his memory may be made to the Alzheimers Association NENY Chapter 85 Watervliet Avenue Albany NY 12206.
