On 7 Nov 1848 were married James Melarky of Rawdon, son of age of James Melarky and Rose Winters, also of Rawdon, and Bridget Shevalan, minor daughter of Patrick Shevalan and Mary McDonnell, of St. Alphonse. Witnesses were Patrick and Thomas Melarky, brothers of the groom, and Daniels Smith and John Rogan, friends of the bride.
