      * From the Albany (NY) Evening Journal dated 12/19/1883 - "The Informer's Story -- Peter Nugent Making A Clean Breast of the Barnburing -- ...At 3:30 o'clock, when the trial was resumed, after the usual recess, Timothy Luddy, saloon keeper at No. 113 South Pearl street, was called and sworn. He said: "I knew Houghkirk and Jones; they were in my place in January last; I heard Houghkirk say "If I let you have this money, what security do I get!" Jones said: "I will give you my temprance(?) papers". Houghkirk took them, and counted out some money, saying: There is $300; I'll get the other $300 from my father." They went out together; Jones came in my place in May and asked about Houghkirk; I said he was all right; Jones said, He's no good; I'll help you in your business by bringing down the builders(?) from State street and give you $35 if you will forget all about that money transaction." The witness was then cross-examined by the District Attorney."
      * From the Albany (NY) Eveing Journal dated 5/2/1885 - "The Alleged Barn Burners. The Testimony in a Noted Arson Case Closed -- Acquittal Directed for Delaney. McCarthy Also Goes Free -- ... (Peter) McCarthy was also sworn. He said that he now lived in West Troy and kept a saloon at the side-cut. He had never seen Nugent before the fire, and made no bargain with him to burn the place. On the night of the fire, he claimed to have accompanied Timothy Luddy to the latter's saloon, corner of Van Zandt and South Pearl street, and said that he remained there until 1 a.m..."
      * From the Auburn (NY) Daily Bulletin dated 2/12/1890 - "The Troy Election Fraud -- ...George B. Wellington, senior counsel for General Rogers called Timothy Luddy, of West Troy for the purpose of proving that he was paid $75 by Collins to take repeaters to Troy. That is what he intended to prove, but his witness told a different story. He said that he did not see Collins before election, and to the best of his memory had not seen Collins to speak to in two years. He did not tell Henry W. Smith, Mr. Wellington's partner, that Collins paid him $75 to vote repeaters, and that they reported to him that each of them voted from eight to twelve times. He did have a call from Henry Smith, who offered him $75 to appear and testify against Collins, promising to make the amount $100 on the event of Collins being unseated. Smith told him that Samuel Morris told Wellington that Collins had paid witness money. His cousin, Daniel Luddy, was present when Smith offered him money. Mr. Wellington called his partner Smith. He admitted having an interview with Luddy and he gave an entirely different version of the conversation, and denied offering Luddy any money."

Delaney of 44 East Elm St. received yesterday a telegram announcing the death of his brother-in-law, Timothy Luddy, at his home in New York on Sunday. Mr. Delaney left to-day for Troy, where funeral services will be held and burial be made tomorrow morning. Besides his widow, who is a sister of Mr. Delaney, the deceased is survived by three sons."
      * Jan. 2010 - I called the office of the Albany Diocesan Cemeteries to see if they could confirm burials in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Watervliet for the following Luddy family members: Timothy A., Anna (Delaney), Francis C. and Edward F. Luddy. They had no records of these burials, despite death notice information indicating two (Francis and Edward Luddy) were buried there. The person in the office indicated they may be buried there, but no records were kept by the recordkeeper of that era.
