      George E. Landry, 1849 6th Ave., Watervliet, who for many years operated a cigar manufacturing concern known as Landry Bros., at the corner of 16th street and Broadway, died at Ellis Hospital, Schenectady. Mr. Landry, an employee of the American Locomotive Co. at Schenectady, was taken ill while at work. Before going to work 17 years ago as a machine operator at American Locomotive Go., Mr. Landry also operated the Sana Souci motion picture theater in Watervliet for many years, and then for a number of years conducted a sign painting business. Mr. Landry had spent most of his life in Watervliet. He was the son of the late Joseph Landry and Delphine Venna. Mr. Landry was a member of the Holy Name Society of St. Patrick's Church, Watervliet, and of the Watervliet Knights of Columbus. He was the husband of the late former Margaret Dougherty. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Johanna Blanchard of Watervliet; a grandson, Edwin K. Blanchard, and a sister, Mrs. Carrie Bacheldor of New York City.
