      George R. Coffey George was born in Nebraska on July 12, 1926 and died peacefully on February 7, 2009, surrounded by his family, having lived most of the last 60 years in his beloved city of San Francisco. A graduate of Creighton University and the Columbia Graduate School of Journalism, George enjoyed a fulfilling career as a journalist and public relations consultant. He traveled extensively and was a prolific writer, spending his final years in Sonoma. He is survived by his wife Katherine; daughters Kathleen Frey (Ken), Christine Puccini (David) and Patricia Coffey (Arthur Lewis); grandchildren, Matthew, Trevor, Alex and Siona River; as well as his sister Frances; brother John; and many nieces and nephews. George will be remembered for his gracious manner, his good humor and the love of his three girls. Family and friends are invited to the Vigil Service Thursday, February 12, 7:30 pm, DUGGAN'S SERRA MORTUARY, 500 Westlake Ave, D.C., and Funeral Mass Friday, 11:00 am, St. Cecilia Church, 17th Ave. at Vicente.
