Death
Vincent J. Coffey, 80, Lincoln, died Monday, Aug. 30, 2004, in Lincoln. He was born July 12, 1924, in Beatrice, the son of Peter and Mary (Hogan) Coffey. He grew up in Wymore and graduated from Wymore High School in 1942. He was a U.S. Army and World War II veteran. He attended Creighton University and graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Law School in 1952. He was as longtime employee of the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad.
Survivors: wife, Colleen (Turnbull) Coffey; sons, Michael J. and wife Jan, Daniel J. and wife Tina, Patrick J.; daughters, Maureen K. Beckman, Patricia A. Coffey, Peggy S. Coffey, Julie M. Quattrocchi; grandchildren, Lisa Linville, Casey and Cale Coffey, Nicholas and Samantha Coffey, Connor Coffey, Courtney and Vinny Quattrocchi; sister-in-law, Shirley Coffey; nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Mary (Hogan) Coffey; son, Timothy J. Coffey; brother, John G. Coffey.
Graveside service: 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 7, Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery, Father John R. Sullivan officiating. Military honors by Fort Riley Honor Guard. Family and friends will meet at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 S. 14th St., Gate 3, prior to services. Memorials to the Blue Springs Ball Diamond Association, in care of Roy Lauby, 8548 E. Spruce Rd., Wymore, NE 68466. Cremation; no visitation. Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, Lincoln, in charge of arrangements.
