James Daly, an Irish catholic, obtain the north east half of the lot no 1 of the 8th range of the Kildare township in 1822. He came at Kildare Aug 5, 1823 with his wife Ann McQuirch and one of his son, Patrick. James died 28Jun1842 age 68.
Two others of his sons, John and Hugh, both military, obtain the lot no 3 of the same range. When the lot no 2, a crown land, was put to sale, James bought it for his young son Patrick.

On the start of their marriage, John and Luke visit Cohoes in USA. They come back to Kildare but after their father's death, about 1881, the whole family went to USA.
The Daly family was well known in the St-Ambroise of Kildare, Hugh Daly, Patrick's brother was president of the church construction syndic; mayor of St-Ambroise-de-Kildare from 1860 to 1862 and again from 1868 to 1876. He was also the president of the school board.
When the Daly's left the Kildare after 102 years they own more than 850 "arpents carrés" of land.

On 30 Jun 1842 was buried the body of James Daly, deceased two days previous, aged 68 years, spouse of Nancy McGuirk, farmer, of this parish.
