A Mass of Christian Burial for Doris Frances Schroeder, 94, of Watertown, NY and formerly of Geneva, NY will be celebrated at a time to be announced at St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Geneva. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery, Geneva. Mrs. Schroeder passed away on March 28, 2015 at the Samaritan Medical Center Emergency Room after being stricken at home.
Arrangements are under the direction of Cleveland Funeral Home, Watertown.
Mrs. Schroeder was born on April 29, 1920 in Geneva, NY. She was the daughter of the late John E. and Maude E. (Hair) Fischer. She graduated DeSales High School and went on to nursing school at St. Joseph's School of Nursing in Elmira. On November 15, 1941 she married William "Red" A. Schroeder at St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Geneva. In 1964 they moved their family to Watertown. During her long career as a registered nurse Frances worked for Geneva General Hospital, Mercy Hospital and she retired from Watertown Ear, Nose and Throat. Frances enjoyed playing cards, gardening and especially spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her sons; Paul J. Schroeder and his wife Donna of Geneva, Mark J. Schroeder and his wife Monica of Watertown and Karl W. Schroeder and his wife Aurelia of California. She is survived by her daughter Jeanne F. Bartlett of Watertown. She is survived by her nieces Rosemary Dodsworth of Phelps, NY, Lillian Roache of Union Springs, NY and Betty Jane Fischer of Binghamton, NY. 13 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren also survive her.
She was predeceased by her husband William Schroeder, her daughter Nancy E. DeGraw and her granddaughter Rosalyn DeGraw.
