Wife of Dr. Timothy Delaney. Mother of Marie J. Delaney McCarthy and Timothy Augustus Delaney.
From the Port Washington News (L. I.) dated 8/24/1934: "Mrs. Delany, Mother of Mrs. Jos. M'Carthy, Dies in Hollis, L. I. -- Mrs. Julia A. Delany, widow of the late Dr. T. Delany and a resident of this village at one time for 8 years, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Joseph P. McCarthy, 90-15 188th street, Hollis, L. I., suddenly Sunday morning as she was preparing to go to church. She was in her 80th year.
Mrs. Delany had many friends in Port Washington which she made while residing here with the McCarthys, a widely known family in Port Washington until several years ago.
A solemn high requiem mass was celebrated at St. Gerard's Church, Hollis, Wednesday morning, and interment was in St. Raymond's Cemetery, Westchester County.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Marie J. McCarthy, of Hollis, and a son, Timothy A. Delaney of Monroe, N.Y. Several grandchildren also survive." -- END
